The Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins

The absent blogger is back . . . To be fair, I have read a few titles the past year: mostly management books, but a few just-for-funs as well. Obviously, nothing ahh-mazing that ended up here.

Then came The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, & The Mockingjay. Best dang books I've read in years, and comparable (remember my rave about this one?) to The Handmaid's Tale.

The setting of these books is a post-revolutionary world where the Capitol hosts annual Hunger Games to remind the citizens of its power. Contestants for the games are drawn from among the citizenship's children, who are then thrown into an arena and made to fight to the death. There can only be one survivor and the victor goes on to live a life of plenty.

Until the year Katniss and Peeta are selected for the games. A handful of berries changes everything.

Be sure to read this trilogy. You will not be disappointed.

Loved these (obviously) but also loved The Handmaids Tale. Think I may need to give that one a reread!
